Week 11 Preview

Week 11 Preview

The race to the playoffs is heating up as all of the teams are scrambling to secure their postseason positions.  Check out my thoughts on the upcoming games, and then get to BetUS to put down a wager or two.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19
Miami Dolphins @ Carolina Panthers

These two teams were pronounced dead by Week 5 of the season, but have bounced back to become real playoff contenders.  They are similar teams with a similar powerful ground game.  The Dolphins might suffer a little this week as they are missing Ronnie Brown, but the defense should see a boost as linebacker Joey Porter returns.  They will certainly have a tough game against Carolina whose offense is led by a much-improved Jake Delhomme.  Expect a close game, but ultimately I think the Panthers will take it on the home field.

Pointspread
Dolphins: +3 +105
Panthers: -3 -125
Moneyline
Dolphins: +150
Panthers: -170

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22
Cleveland Browns @ Detroit Lions

This game is of little consequence as these are the two worst teams in the league.  Though it could affect the future draft pick order.  It seems to me that with the home field advantage, Detroit should make this their second win of the season.

Pointspread
Browns: +3 ½ -110
Lions: -3 ½ -110

Buffalo Bills @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The problems for the Bills keep on getting worse.  First they get the finger from Titans owner Bud Adams, and then they fire their head coach.  If the Jaguars want to keep any hope of securing a wild card spot alive, they will need to take advantage of this opportunity.  With the Bills suffering further coaching troubles, the Jags should grab a win at home.

Pointspread
Bills: +8 ½ -110
Jaguars: -8 ½ -110

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Kansas City Chiefs
The Steelers lost their divisional lead last week and will likely be hoping to bounce back with an easy win against the Chiefs.  On the other side of the field, the Chiefs are coming off a big win against Oakland.  Jamaal Charles delivered in the absence of Larry Johnson, but all the good momentum in the world wouldn’t deliver a win for the Chiefs in this one.

Pointspread
Steelers: -10 -110
Chiefs: +10 -110

Indianapolis Colts @ Baltimore Ravens
This will be a pretty great game between two tough teams.  The Colts held onto their undefeated season by the skin of their teeth last week, and they will face another test in Baltimore.  Quarterback Peyton Manning is once again leading the league and he will definitely be the team’s biggest asset in this game.  The Ravens will need to beat teams like Indianapolis if they want to gain their spot in the playoffs.  It should be very close, but in the end I’m going to pick the Colts.

Pointspread
Colts: -1 -110
Ravens: +1 -110

Atlanta Falcons @ New York Giants
This is a key game for both of these teams.  They were former favorites to win their divisions and now they are posting 5-4 records and hoping to stay in contention.  The Giants had a bye week, which hopefully meant some rest for Eli Manning’s injured foot.  However, considering the inconsistency since the Giants’ loss to New Orleans, it seems there’s much more to fix than Manning’s foot.  The Falcons are also having troubles with their quarter back Matt Ryan who is struggling to say the least.  They’ve lost Michael Turner just when he was starting to look good.  I think the Giants have the edge in this one.  Expect a win in New York.

Pointspread
Falcons: +6 ½ -110
Giants: -6 ½ -110

San Francisco 49ers @ Green Bay Packers
San Fran and Green Bay will both need to win this game if they want to realistically stay in contention for the playoffs.  Alas, there will only be one winner.  I think the 9ers have the potential to pull off the upset in this one, but it will likely be the cold weather at Lambeau Field that wins it for the Packers.

Pointspread
49ers: +6 ½ -110
Packers: -6 ½ -110

Seattle Seahawks @ Minnesota Vikings
The Seahawks are still trying to find their feet this season.  They suffered yet another loss against the Cardinals last week, and will likely have more than they can handle as they head to Minnesota. Expect another easy win for the Vikes.

Pointspread
Seahawks: +11 -110
Vikings: -11 -110

Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys
The Redskins surprisingly handed the Broncos a loss and will be looking to do the same to the Cowboys. They boosted their running game by replacing Clinton Portis with Ladell Bretts, but the offense is still struggling.  The Cowboys should be able to pull off a win in this one, but if the Skins can hang in there long enough, they might just wear the Boys down.

Pointspread
Redskins: +11 -110
Cowboys: -11 -110

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay shocked a few NFL fans by pulling off a massive win against Green Bay and holding their own against Miami.  They’ve started to gain some offensive power under the surprising leadership of rookie QB Josh Freeman.  Though they are looking stronger, and the Saints are looking like they’re losing a bit of steam as the season rolls on, the Bucs aren’t quite there yet.  Expect a win for New Orleans.

Pointspread
Saints: -11 -110
Buccaneers: +11 -110

Arizona Cardinals @ St Louis Rams

A win for the Rams seems unlikely, especially when you consider how familiar Arizona QB Kurt Warner is with this field.  He’s likely going to use that to Arizona’s advantage to give them an even bigger edge.  The Rams offense has seen some improvement with the focus shifting to running back Steven Jackson, but I’m afraid they’re just not good enough.

Pointspread
Cardinals: -9 -110
Rams: +9 -110

New York Jets @ New England Patriots
I’ve given up on the Jets.  They let me down for the last time last week by losing to the Jaguars, and this week, they will be facing a much tougher test in New England.  Though New York beat the Pats the first time these teams met, it will most definitely be the opposite outcome this time around.  The Patriots had a close call last week.  They would have won if not for coach Belichick’s odd 4th down call.  With the Jets entire game unraveling, expect New England to bounce back in a big way.

Pointspread
Jets: +10 -110
Patriots: -10 -110

Cincinnati Bengals @ Oakland Raiders
Then Bengals marched into Pittsburgh last week and left with the AFC North division lead.  They’ll likely be looking to extend that lead by grabbing a win against the Raiders this week.  If they can keep their focus on strong, consistent playing they should do well as Oakland has little to offer that would suggest an upset.  Expect a win for Cincinnati.

Pointspread
Bengals: -9 ½ -110
Raiders: +9 ½ -110

Philadelphia Eagles @ Chicago Bears
Both of these teams are dangerously close to missing out on the playoffs.  In fact, Chicago may have already dashed their hopes with their loss against the 9ers last week.  They’ll both want a win in this one to make up some ground.  It’ll be a night game in Chicago, which is bad news for QB Jay Cutler.  As if he wasn’t having enough trouble with interceptions, that number dramatically increases once you throw after dark games into the mix as he’s thrown 11 picks in three night games.  The Eagles have lost Brian Westbrook, which is a huge blow, as their running game will likely suffer without him.  If they can fill that hole in the offense, Philly should do all right in this one.

Pointspread
Eagles: -3 -105
Bears: +3 -115

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans

The Titans are on a roll, posting their first three consecutive wins of the season.  And though a win against the Texans would be great for the team, it will be a tough test.  The Texans have a surprisingly potent offense lead by QB Matt Schaub and they are definitely hungry for their first spot in the playoffs in franchise history.  Expect a pretty close game, though I’m going to give this one to the Texans.

Pointspread
Titans: +4 ½ -110
Texans: -4 ½ -110

Week 10 Preview

Week 10 Preview

There were some pretty shocking wins last week. I mean, who knew that Tampa Bay would hand it to Green Bay?? Well, this week not only has some great divisional matchups and traditional rivalries, but it’s time to add the Thursday game. With that in mind, here’s a look at this week’s games.  You know the drill — my picks are in green.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12
Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers

The first Thursday night game of the season and it should be filled with plenty of drama, as these two teams are in desperate need of a win if they want to realistically remain in contention for the playoffs.

The big fix for the 9ers this week will be their turnovers. They lost to the Titans last week because Tennessee was able to rack up 24 points on turnovers. QB Alex Smith will need to tighten up. Running back Frank Gore has emerged as a genuine threat, which should be especially potent against Chicago’s ailing defense. If the 49ers can move the ball without turning it over, they’ll do all right. As mentioned, the Bears’ defense is in the hole. They’ve been plagued with injury, which resulted in a major loss to Arizona last week. Overall, I think the 49ers will be able to overcome to grab the win, but it might be a close one.

Pointspread
Bears: +3 -105
49ers: -3 -115
Moneyline
Bears: +150
49ers: -170

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15
Jacksonville Jaguars @ New York Jets

This is another must win game for these two teams if they want to carry through the postseason. The Jets’ bye week came just in time to stop a spiraling loss of control. Mark Sanchez let down in a big way, and he’ll be looking to get his confidence back on the home field. Head coach Rex Ryan will likely continue to focus on a running game to take some of the pressure off of Sanchez. The defense will suffer with the loss of Kris Jenkins so the Jets will need to fill in the gaps. Jacksonville should be a good test for New York, as they have won four of their last 5 games. But, they’re the visiting team this week, and QB David Garrard doesn’t do as well on the road. I can’t believe I’m going to do this again, but if the Jets can put the pressure on, they should grab a win.

Pointspread
Jaguars: +7 -110
Jets: -7 -110
Moneyline
Jaguars: +250
Jets: -300

Denver Broncos @ Washington Redskins
So, Denver has two losses and will be in need of a win as some consolation. Luckily they are facing the Redskins who are one of the worst teams in the league. Expect the Broncos to use the opportunity to get back on track. It should be an easy win for Denver.

Pointspread
Broncos: -3 ½ -110
Redskins: +3 ½ -110
Moneyline
Broncos: -190
Redskins: +160

Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers
This is a key game in the NFC North as these two teams are currently tied for the top spot. Each will want to grab a win and the upper hand. The Steelers are coming in this one off of an impressive win against the Broncos and look like they’re getting better as the season rolls on. However, they’ve had a short week and will be facing a pretty competitive Cincinnati team.

It’s passing v rushing as the Steelers know how to move the ball through the air and the Bengals can move it on the ground. With the Steelers defense plagued by injury, the Bengals might be able to rack up more than a few touchdowns with that powerful running game. Though, with so much on the line, it is doubtful that the Steelers would drop this one on the home field. I expect Pittsburgh to win.

Pointspread
Bengals: +7 -110
Steelers: -7 -110
Moneyline
Bengals: +270
Steelers: -330

Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans
Is this lucky number 3 for the Titans? They’ve grabbed two wins in the last two weeks and both were against teams that are generally considered to be better than the Bills. The Titans are recovering well after a terrible first half of the season with QB Vince Young leading the way. Cornerback Chris Johnson has also emerged to beef up that struggling offense. If they can play consistently, the Titans should do all right in this game. Though, it won’t be easy as the Bills are fresh off a bye week and are returning a few of their injured players, including QB Trent Edwards. Expect some pretty basic football in this one, but possibly a close game. In the end, I’ll say the Titans will get their third straight win.

Pointspread
Bills: +6 ½ -110
Titans: -6 ½ -110
Moneyline
Bills: +235
Titans: -275

Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings
This one is a no brainer. Minnesota is well rested, one of the best teams in the league right now, AND will be playing on the home field. The Lions are working on another losing streak after falling in the last five games. Expect an easy win for the Vikes.

Pointspread
Lions: +16 ½ -110
Vikings: -16 ½ -110
Moneyline
Lions: +900
Vikings: -1600

New Orleans Saints @ St Louis Rams
Here’s another one that could potentially be a blowout. The Saints have continued with their undefeated season after picking up a win against the Panthers last week. Though their offense isn’t quite as potent as it was in earlier weeks, it should be enough to handle the struggling Rams. Expect the Saints to march into St Louis to take the win.

Pointspread
Saints: -13 ½ -110
Rams: +13 ½ -110
Moneyline
Saints: -750
Rams: +550

Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers
Carolina is looking progressively stronger as the season rolls on. They gave the Saints a run for their money in the first half of last week’s game, and have been putting up some pretty convincing wins. Falcons QB Matt Ryan has consistently struggled with turnovers this season, but with the focus shifting to running back Michael Turner, some of the pressure should be taken off Ryan. When these two teams met in Week 2, it was a win for the Falcons. I think it will be the opposite this week as the Panthers are gaining momentum.

Pointspread
Falcons: -1 ½ -110
Panthers: +1 ½ -110

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Miami Dolphins
Tampa Bay may have picked up their first victory of the season last week against Green Bay, but I don’t think the wins will continue. Expect the Dolphins to dominate in this one even though the ‘WildCat’ is increasingly less effective these days.

Pointspread
Buccaneers: +10 -110
Dolphins: -10 -110
Moneyline
Buccaneers: +400
Dolphins: -500

Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders
There is a bit of history between these two teams, which could create a better game than many are expecting. But, with both of them struggling this season, it will be another game filled with fairly basic football. In the end, though, I expect the Raiders will be able to pull off the win.

Pointspread
Chiefs: +1 ½ -110
Raiders: -1 ½ -110

Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
This is a divisional matchup that the Cardinals will want to win if they want to keep their spot at the top of the NFC West. That being said, they have been better on the road than they have at home, which could mean trouble. The Seahawks will likely be anxious to get a win as they are currently tied for second in the division. They’re struggling to find consistency and will hope for some good momentum. They are capable of pulling off the upset, but I think the Cardinals will take the win to remain in the top spot.

Pointspread
Seahawks: +8 ½ -110
Cardinals: -8 ½ -110
Moneyline
Seahawks: +310
Cardinals: -380

Philadelphia Eagles @ San Diego Chargers
For the most part, the Eagles have been looking pretty good this season. Despite a couple of losses, they have pulled off some major wins. They’ll certainly give the Chargers a run for their money as the San Diego defense, though it’s showing more power lately, is still lacking. Expect a close game, but I think the Chargers will win on the home field.

Pointspread
Eagles: +1 -110
Chargers: -1 -110

Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers
Green Bay had a shocking loss to Tampa Bay last week. Though it seems futile at this point as Minnesota is running away with the division, the Packers are going to need a win if they want to keep any hope of the playoffs alive. Their defense is struggling to say the least. Maybe the addition of Mark Tauscher will give them the boost they need, but it seems unlikely. If they can keep the pressure on Tony Romo & Co in this game, they could get the win. It would be pretty disappointing to suffer another loss, especially on the home field.

Pointspread
Cowboys: -3 Ev
Packers: +3 -120
Moneyline
Cowboys: -150
Packers: +130

New England Patriots @ Indianapolis Colts
This will be the game to watch this week with many tuning in to see the battle between superstar QBs Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Though with both equally good, I think a win for either team will depend on a few other players.

There is no question that the Patriots will need to put pressure on Manning. Their pass rush game has been failing lately, so they’ll need players like Adalius Thomas, Jerod Mayo, and Pat Chung to step up. Some pressure on the Colts receivers will also go a long way to shutting down the passing game. The Colts will need to develop more of a running game as the Pats are likely preparing for the aerial assault. They’ve been struggling with this all season as they have a team average of just 3.7 yards per carry. If they can find a good balance between the air and the ground they should pick up the win, but it will be close.

Pointspread
Patriots: +3 -120
Colts: -3 Ev
Moneyline
Patriots: +130
Colts: -150

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns

Here’s another game with a little bit of history in it. The Browns and their fans will be fired up for this one. It could result in a much feistier team, but there is little that could convince me that they would be feisty enough to pull off a win. Baltimore has a genuine chance to compete for a spot in the playoffs if they can win the rest of their divisional matchups. Consider this to be those wins.

Pointspread
Ravens: -10 ½ -110
Browns: +10 ½ -110
Moneyline
Ravens: -550
Browns: +425

Week 9 Preview

Week 9 Preview

We’re getting close to the home stretch of the NFL season, which means plenty of important divisional matchups scheduled to go off this weekend.  I’ve put together a quick analysis of my top picks for Week 9.  Let’s get right into it …

Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars fell to the then winless Titans last week (did I call that one or what!?) which means that they’ll definitely be hoping to bounce back.  The Chiefs are still among the worst in the league, and the Jaguars are likely to pour it on thick in order to make it up to the fans.  Expect a win for the Jags this week at home.

Pointspread
Chiefs: +6 ½ -110
Jaguars: -6 ½ -110
Moneyline
Chiefs: +220
Jaguars: -260

Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals

This is a key divisional matchup as both of these teams will be looking to take the lead of the AFC West. Though the Bengals have been racking up victories, they have yet to put up a strong, convincing win.  They are the kings of the fourth quarter rally, which they effectively utilized the last time these two teams met.  A lot has happened since then, and the Ravens are starting to gather steam.  This should be a pretty close matchup, but I think the Ravens will get their retribution by stealing a win in Cincinnati.

Pointspread
Ravens: -3 Ev
Bengals: +3 -120
Moneyline
Ravens: -140
Bengals: +120

Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts

As the Colts are one of only two teams left in the NFL that remain undefeated, many are predicting another easy win for Indianapolis.  However, I think this game might be a little closer than many might think.  The Texans have been showing plenty of improvement lately, with a stronger defense and an impressive offense led by QB Matt Schaub. Though there is no question in my mind that Peyton Manning will likely gather up another 300+ yards while leading the Colts to another win, I think the Texans will give them a good game.

Pointspread
Texans: +9 -110
Colts: -9 -110
Moneyline
Texans: +320
Colts: -400

Washington Redskins @ Atlanta Falcons
The Redskins are bad and the Falcons are not.  What more needs to be said?  Plus, the Redskins will be without star TE Chris Cooley, which will prove to be costly. Expect the Falcons to pull of a massive win on the home field.

Pointspread
Redskins: +10 -110
Falcons: -10 -110
Moneyline
Redskins: +420
Falcons: -520

Green Bay Packers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Green Bay will likely need a boost after that emotional loss against the Vikings last week on Lambeau Field.  It’s a good thing that they’ll be facing the Buccaneers – the only winless team in the NFL right now.  Expect a win for Green Bay as the Buccaneers continue to work things out.

Pointspread
Packers: -9 ½ -110
Buccaneers: +9 ½ -110
Moneyline
Packers: -480
Buccaneers: +380

San Diego Chargers @ New York Giants
The Giants seem to be unable to regain control of their season, which has resulted in a string of losses.  Their secondary is pitiful and the pass rush isn’t any better.  The Chargers can take advantage of New York’s diminishing pass defense to win this game.  All they need to do is set up an effective game through the air.  As far as the Chargers’ defense goes, well … it’s weak.  Both teams need a win in this one, so expect both to put up a good fight.  In the end though, I’m going to give this one to the Giants with the home field advantage.

Pointspread
Chargers: +5 -110
Giants: -5 -110
Moneyline
Chargers: +190
Giants: -230

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos

This should be a pretty interesting matchup for Monday night.  The Steelers are going into this one fresh off of a bye-week, which means they’ve had plenty of time to prepare.  They’ve got one of the best defensive lines in the league right now, and after Baltimore showed that Denver’s offense can be shut down with aggressive, physical defense, the Steelers should fair well in this game.  Broncos’ head coach Josh McDaniels will be hoping to prove that he can handle adversity just as well as success as he tries to navigate his team through their first rough spot of the season.  Expect this to be a close game, but ultimately I think the Steelers will give the Broncos their second loss.

Pointspread
Steelers: -2 Ev
Broncos: +3 -120
Moneyline
Steelers: -140
Broncos: +120

Week 8 Preview

Week 8 Preview

Week 7 resulted in some shocking wins, and it looks like Week 8 is shaping up to do the same.  Here’s a look at all of the games complete with BetUS odds currently on offer.

Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens
The Broncos remained undefeated but this could be their toughest test to date.  The Ravens offense has been improving over the season and is considered by many to be one of the toughest in the league.  They’ll definitely put Denver’s defense to work.  Plus, they’ll hope to put on a good game for the home crowd.  Expect the Ravens to put up a great fight to take the win and end the Bronco’s undefeated season.

Pointspread
Broncos: +3 +105
Ravens: -3 -125
Moneyline
Broncos: +150
Ravens: -170

Cleveland Browns @ Chicago Bears
What could possibly be said about this matchup? The Browns are hopeless and they’ll be on the road.  Expect a win for the Bears.

Pointspread
Browns: +13 -110
Bears: -13 -110
Moneyline
Browns: +550
Bears: -750

Houston Texans @ Buffalo Bills
The Texans have shocked a few fans by handing losses to two pretty tough teams in the past couple of weeks.  Under the leadership of star QB Matt Schaub, the offense has been on fire.  They’ll be travelling to Buffalo to face off against a struggling Bills team.  After starting the season off with a string of losses, the Bills have taken action.  They’ve swapped Trent Edwards for Ryan Fitzpatrick and it seemed to pay off as they snatched a win away from the Panthers last week.  Will they be able to continue with the momentum at home this week?  My prediction is they won’t and the Texans will pull out the win on the road.

Pointspread
Texans: -3 -125
Bills: +3 +105
Moneyline
Texans: -175
Bills: +155

Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers
Everyone will certainly be tuning in to watch this game as Favre heads back to Green Bay for a rematch against the Packers.  All eyes will be on him as he attempts to lead the Vikes to another win over his former team.  They are not only underdogs in this one, but they’re also looking to get over their first loss of the season that came at the hands of the Steelers last week.  If they can utilize Adrian Peterson against the Packer defense, it should be a win for Minnesota.

Pointspread
Vikings: +3 Ev
Packers: -3 -120
Moneyline
Vikings: +155
Packers: -175

San Francisco 49ers @ Indianapolis Colts
The 49ers are trying to steadily improve as the season rolls on, and, for the most part, they are.  However, they’re going into a tough test this week, as the Colts are 6-0.  It’s going to be a tough game for the 9ers, and will likely result in a win for the Colts.

Pointspread
49ers: +12 ½ -110
Colts: -12 ½ -110
Moneyline
49ers: +550
Colts: -750

Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets
The Jets will have another shot at Miami this week, and they’re going to have the homefield advantage.  Things might be a little bit different as the Jets have been struggling in recent weeks and Miami looks like they’re finally getting things together.  Miami is hoping to overcome a loss last week against the Saints.  The Jets are also hoping to overcome a loss against the Bills (both were disappointing for very different reasons).  If Mark Sanchez can get things under control and the defense can get back to the form they were in at the beginning of the season, the Jets should be able to grab a win in this one.

Pointspread
Dolphins: +3 +105
Jets: -3 -125
Moneyline
Dolphins: +155
Jets: -175

Seattle Seahawks @ Dallas Cowboys
Both of these teams are struggling to find some consistency this season.  The Cowboys calmed enraged fans last week by pulling off a win against a strong Atlanta squad.  The Seahawks are coming off of a major loss against the Cardinals and it looks like they’ll have another.  Dallas should win this one at home.

Pointspread
Seahawks: +9 ½ -110
Cowboys: -9 ½ -110
Moneyline
Seahawks: +350
Cowboys: -450

Oakland Raiders @ San Diego Chargers
Though the Raiders have been pretty horrible this season they have pulled off some shocking wins – most recently their win against Philadelphia.  The Chargers have been hit and miss this season, with some great performances and some pretty bad ones.  You’ll never know what you’re going to get from these two teams, so this game should be pretty interesting.  In the end, though, expect the Chargers to pull out a win on the home field.

Pointspread
Raiders: +16 ½ -110
Chargers: -16 ½ -110
Moneyline
Raiders: +900
Chargers: -1600

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans
The Titans are 0-6 and there is nothing to suggest that they’re going to get any better.  The Jaguars aren’t doing that much better, so despite any initial thoughts, either team has a fighting chance.  Maybe, just maybe, the Titans will pick up their first win of the season this week.

Pointspread
Jaguars: +3 -110
Titans: -3 -110
Moneyline
Jaguars: +155
Titans: -175

Carolina Panthers @ Arizona Cardinals
The Panthers have probably been waiting for this game to come along since the playoffs last year.  Though they’ll be looking for the opposite outcome, I don’t think it’s going to favor them.  The Cardinals picked up a massive win against the Giants last week, and seem to be gathering steam as the season rolls on.  Plus, the Panthers are posting a miserable 2-4 record, which certainly doesn’t suggest that they’ll win this one.  Expect the Cardinals to take the win this week.

Pointspread
Panthers: +10 -110
Cardinals: -10 -110
Moneyline
Panthers: +400
Cardinals: -500

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
The Giants can’t seem to get over their loss against the Saints two weeks ago as they followed it up with another loss against the Cardinals in Week 7.  They’ll be hoping to get back on track this week, but they’ll be facing a pretty decent Eagles team.  Both QBs in this matchup are forces to be reckoned with, so the game might just boil down to the defense.  This should be a pretty great game, but I expect the Giants will come out on top in the end.

Pointspread
Giants: -1 -110
Eagles: +1 -110

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints

The Saints have remained undefeated so far, and many consider them to be the best team in the NFL right now.  They’ll be facing a tough test this week as the Falcons are looking strong.  However, expect the Saints to keep on marchin’ with another win.

Pointspread
Falcons: +10 -110
Saints: -10 -110
Moneyline
Falcons: +400
Saints: -500

As always, you can put down a wager at the abovementioned odds at BetUS.  Check it out before the games kick off on Sunday.

Week 7 Preview

Week 7 Preview

Week 7 is quickly approaching, so I’m just going to get right into it.

San Diego Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs
The Chargers are coming off of a tough game against the Broncos. Though they lost, they did play fairly well. The Chiefs have shown improvement with their win against the Redskins last week, but the Chargers are a much stronger team. I expect that San Diego will pull off an easy win in this one.

Pointspread
Chargers: -5 -110
Chiefs: +5 -110
Moneyline
Chargers: -230
Chiefs: +190

Indianapolis Colts @ St Louis Rams
The Rams put up a good fight last week against the Jaguars, but came up short. They’re improving as the season rolls on, but Indianapolis will be too much of a test. With Peyton Manning continuously throwing 300+ yards each game, he’s as strong as ever. Plus, he’ll be going up against one of the worst defenses in the league, which should mean an easy win for the Colts.

Pointspread
Colts: -13 -110
Rams: +13 -110
Moneyline
Colts: -700
Rams: +500

Chicago Bears @ Cincinnati Bengals
If the Bears want to stay in contention for the NFC North division title they’ll need a win in this game. The Bengals had a pretty bad loss last week. With Anton Odom – the team’s leader in sacks – out, Jay Cutler will likely have a little more freedom. If the Bears can step up on the offense and take advantage of the current Odom free defense, they should be able to pull of a win. It’ll be close though.

Pointspread
Bears: +1 -110
Bengals: -1 -110

Minnesota Vikings @ Pittsburgh Steelers
This is the game to watch this week as the Vikes head to Heinz Field. It’s definitely going to be a battle to the end with the Steelers defense ranked at the top of the league. They’ll need to be at the top of their game as they’re going up against the likes of Adrian Peterson (leading the league in rushing yards), Sidney Rice, and Visanthe Shiancoe who make up a pretty intimidating Viking offense. However, the defense will need to pick it up as they nearly gave up their game against Baltimore last week. Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has been fronting a pretty effective passing game, but the Steeler rushing game is nonexistent. Either team could take this one, but I can’t go against my Vikings. It will be a tough one, but I’m going to say that they’ll head into Pittsburgh and take the win.

Pointspread
Vikings: +5 ½ -110
Steelers: -5 ½ -110
Moneyline
Vikings: +200
Steelers: -240

New England Patriots v Tampa Bay Buccaneers
These two teams are heading across the pond to face off in London’s famed Wembley Stadium. Maybe a new location will be inspiration for the Buccaneers as they’re still 0-6 in this season. They had a tough game against the Panthers last week, and are going to face an even tougher one in Week 7. The Patriots are getting back on track with Tom Brady seemingly returning to his top form. They killed the Titans last week 59-0 with Brady throwing an impressive six touchdowns. Expect them to have another great game to pull out yet another massive win in London.

Pointspread
Patriots: -14 ½ -110
Buccaneers: +14 ½ -110
Moneyline
Patriots: -1200
Buccaneers: +750

San Francisco 49ers @ Houston Texans
Many are saying that San Fran has what it takes to win this game, but with the way they’ve been playing it might be closer than many are thinking. They’re hoping to maintain their lead in the NFC West and they’re fresh off a bye week. This should be enough motivation to get a win and get over that disappointing loss in Week 5. Rookie Michael Crabtree will be making his debut and RB Frank Gore will return to boost the 9er game, but the Texans are hot off a massive win against the Bengals and are looking pretty strong with an effective passing game led by Matt Schaub. Like I said, it will be a close game but, ultimately, I think the 49ers will win it.

Pointspread
49ers: +3 Ev
Texans: -3 -120
Moneyline
49ers: +150
Texans: -170

New York Jets @ Oakland Raiders
The Jets have let me down two weeks in a row now with rookie QB Mark Sanchez unraveling. Do I dare take their side again? They have shown that they have what it takes to beat teams like the Raiders this season, but if they actually want to they’ll need to pull back on the passing game and focus on running. Sanchez has had only one touchdown and eight interceptions in the past three games. I think it’s time to change things up a bit. Oakland has a big win against the Eagles under their belt and will be looking to continue with that momentum in front of the home crowd. However, they are still suffering some major problems in their offense. If the Jets can get back to basics, they should pull off a win in this game.

Pointspread
Jets: -6 -110
Raiders: +6 -110
Moneyline
Jets: -270
Raiders: +230

Buffalo Bills @ Carolina Panthers
The Bills calmed some fan outrage by defeating the Jets in overtime last week, and they’ll be looking to prove that they’re a winning team. The Panthers are coming off of two consecutive wins against a couple of hopeless teams, but will that good momentum carry over? If they can get a decent passing game going they should be able to pull off a win. It’ll be close, but expect the Panthers to take it.

Pointspread
Bills: +7 -110
Panthers: -7 -110
Moneyline
Bills: +250
Panthers: -300

New Orleans Saints @ Miami Dolphins
The Saints had a massive win last week, handing the Giants their first loss of the season. They seem to be invincible as they head to Miami. The Dolphins had a good win against the Jets, showing us all that they’re starting to get back on their feet after a pretty rough start. Though they are showing promise, the Saints will be too much too soon. Expect New Orleans to grab the win to remain undefeated.

Pointspread
Saints: -6 ½ -110
Dolphins: +6 ½ -110
Moneyline
Saints: -275
Dolphins: +235

Atlanta Falcons @ Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys have been getting some flak lately for not winning games, especially Tony Romo who can’t seem to get it together for the big ones. The Falcons have been on fire, putting up some big wins against the Bears and the 49ers in recent weeks. Regardless, I don’t think they’ll have enough to conquer the boys in Dallas. Expect the Cowboys to pull out all the stops to get the win and calm some of the uproar over their success or lack thereof.

Pointspread
Falcons: +4 -110
Cowboys: -4 -110
Moneyline
Falcons: +170
Cowboys: -210

Arizona Cardinals @ New York Giants
The Giants were handed their first loss of the season last week by the Saints. They’ll be looking to bounce back at home against the Cardinals. With the Birds as inconsistent as they have been this season, expect the Giants to take the win.

Pointspread
Cardinals: +7 -110
Giants: -7 -110
Moneyline
Cardinals: +250
Giants: -300

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins
I know that most of you out there are giving this one to the Eagles without any thought, and with the way the ‘Skins have been playing this season I understand why. However, keep in mind that these two teams share a pretty great rivalry, which could inspire a good game. The ‘Skins are still suffering from some major coaching issues that got a little bit more confusing after their loss against the Chiefs last week. This should be enough of a distraction for the Eagles to ultimately pull out the win.

Pointspread
Eagles: -7 -110
Redskins: +7 -110
Moneyline
Eagles: -300
Redskins: +250

Week 6 Preview

Week 6 Preview

Another week of football is on the horizon and there are plenty of interesting matchups.  So … let’s just get right into it.  As always, you can check out BetUS to put down a wager on the mentioned odds.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Washington Redskins
These two teams aren’t bringing much to the table this season.  However, the Chiefs surprisingly gave the 49ers a pretty tough game last week.  Could be signs of life in Kansas.  With rumors buzzing that the ‘Skins are looking to replace head coach Jim Zorn by midseason, it should be enough of a distraction to give the Chiefs their first win.

Pointspread
Chiefs: +6 ½ -110
Redskins: -6 ½ -110

Houston Texans @ Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have steadily been pulling off fourth quarter miracles for 4 consecutive wins.  In fact, if not for their tragic loss in Game 1 of the season, they’d be looking at a perfect season.  The Texans are pretty inconsistent, especially when it comes to hitting the road.  As the Cats are on such a roll, expect them to pull off the win at home.

Pointspread
Texans: +5 -110
Bengals: -260

Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Browns are another pretty hopeless team.  There isn’t much to say about them, as I really don’t think that they could pull off this upset. Though the Steelers have been somewhat erratic with a loss against the Bengals and the Bears, this should be an easy win for them on the home field.

Pointspread
Browns: +14 -110
Steelers: -14 -110

Baltimore Ravens @ Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings pretty well have this NFC Central title thing in the bag.  They’re still 5-0 after a win against the Rams last week.  On the other side of the field, the Ravens are struggling. The offense is can’t find consistency, the defense is lacking aggression, and the special teams keep racking up those penalties.  With weakness in nearly every aspect of their game, they’re not going to be much competition for the Vikes on the home field.  Expect Minnesota to chalk up another win to continue their undefeated season.

Pointspread
Ravens: +3 -125
Vikings: -3 +105

St Louis Rams @ Jacksonville Jaguars
You never know which team to expect when it comes to the Jaguars.  They’ve pulled off some impressive wins, but also suffered some crushing losses.  Last week was a disappointment to say the least.  The Rams are a winless team this season though the return of Marc Bulger might give them a boost.  Ultimately, I think the Jags will bounce back with a win at home against the limping Rams.

Pointspread
Rams: +9 ½ -110
Jaguars: -9 ½ -110

New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints
This is the game of the week.  It’s a face off between two undefeated teams and has sparked some chatter about a preview of the NFC Championship Game.  The Giants have pulled in some great wins, but will they be ready for this challenge?  Manning’s heel is causing some pain, and he hasn’t found the end zone in his last two games.  The Saints are fresh off of a bye week, giving them plenty of time to prepare.  Saints’ Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams knows all about Manning from their years in Washington.  All of that plus the home field advantage!  It’s going to be a great game, but I expect the Saints will hand the Giants their first loss of the season.

Pointspread
Giants: +3 Ev
Saints: -3 -120

Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Panthers are in need of a win in their conference.  Plus, a game on the road would be great.  They’re showing some signs of improvement after their win against the Red Skins last week.  The Buccaneers, on the other hand, aren’t playing well.  With nothing to suggest that they’ll be able to pick up their first win of the season, expect the Panthers to be victorious.

Pointspread
Panthers: -3 -125
Buccaneers: +3 +105

Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers
Oh the Lions.  The poor, poor Lions.  This should be an easy win for the Packers at home.

Pointspread
Lions: +13 ½ -110
Packers: -13 ½ -110
Philadelphia Eagles @ Oakland Raiders
The Eagles should start pulling in some wins now that Donovan McNabb has returned.  They’re primed to start making up some ground after a rough start.  The Raiders are hopeless.  The offense is lacking leadership (as evidenced by the horrid performance by JaMarcus Russell last week) and the defense isn’t coming through.  Expect Philly to take an easy win as they head to Oakland to face the ailing Raiders.

Pointspread
Eagles: -14 -105
Raiders: +14 -115

Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks
This one is a tough one to call.  It’s a key game for both teams as they’re looking to knock the 49ers from the top position in the NFC West.  The Seahawks had a great comeback last week with the return of QB Matt Hasselback.  Though it proved that they need him in order to pull off the wins.  The Cardinals had a tough week last week, nearly giving up their lead over the Texans.  They’ve been inconsistent, which could be their downfall as they hit the road.  The Seahawks play hard at home; I expect them to pull off the win.

Pointspread
Cardinals: +3 -125
Seahawks: -3 +105

Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
The Jets has a tough loss last week after a late rally for the Dolphins.  But, in spite of that, they’re playing solid football.  Mark Sanchez continues to impress, as does the amazing efforts of the defense.  Buffalo, though, isn’t so great.  With coaching troubles, injuries, and angry fans plaguing the Bills, the Jets should make this a win on the home field.

Pointspread
Bills: +9 ½ -110
Jets: -9 ½ -110

Tennessee Titans @ New England Patriots
The Titans are still looking for their first win of the season, and I don’t think it’s going to come from this matchup.  The Patriots, though they’re not as great as they used to be, are still putting on some decent performances.   Expect them to go 4-2 after winning this one against the Titans.

Pointspread
Titans: +9 -110
Patriots: -9 -110

Chicago Bears @ Atlanta Falcons
This will be another game to watch this weekend as the Bears travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons.  The Bears are coming off of a much needed bye week, and with Jay Cutler finding his comfort zone as well as the emergence of Johnny Knox they should put on a pretty great game.  Though the Falcons will be playing hard at home.  If their defense is up for shutting down the Bears’ emerging offense, they should pull off a win at home.

Pointspread
Bears: +3 ½ -110
Falcons: -3 ½ -110

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
The Broncos are still undefeated after their win against the Pats last week.  This will be another test for them as they head to San Diego.  They don’t have a history of doing well on the road.  Expect the Chargers to pull out all of the stops for the home crowd to produce a win.  Looks like this might be the end of the Broncos’ undefeated season.

Pointspread

Broncos: +3 Ev
Chargers: -3 -120
